Baby Not Engaged At 40 Weeks
Baby not engaged at 40 weeks. I had to be induced with my first because of pre-e symptoms at 41 weeks. Was hoping for vbac this. He said if baby isnt engaged he will book me in for a csection at 39 weeks.
I know they wont let me go over my due date so if baby is engaged I am not sure what they. Helping this baby to tuck their chin may help them rotate around and suddenly engage which can help labor begin on its own when this occurs after 40 weeks gestation or later. Im so worried about my water breaking and the risk of cord prolapse.
Head is barely 15 engaged baby still very high up possibly back-to-back and lying in a very strange position. My 1st only gone engaged when labour started i think and that was after being induced at 10 days over he was back to back dont know whether that effected his lack of being engaged or not. I hope it doesnt come to that and baby is behaving itself.
They have booked me for an induction in 2 weeks time and I really dont want to. Theyve said to go back next Wednesday at 41 weeks when they will try to do sweep again but if still not engaged they will. WoWbabies says DS was 25ths from 33 weeks he never engaged any further and didnt arrive until 406 GlitterBug09 reports a similar experience My dd started to engage at 35 weeks by 39 weeks she was fully engaged but I didnt give birth until 41 weeks Factors that can affect when your babys head engages include.
Baby not engaged at 36 weeks. 30102013 at 836 am. I had my 40 week checkup today and my kids head is not engaged.
2nd one wasnt engaged 40 weeks but did come of his own accord after 9 days overdue. There are many reasons why the baby might not be coming that have nothing to do with medical problems. After a lengthy labor it ended in emergency csection due to speaking a very high feverswollen cervix.
However this isnt necessarily the cause of worry you might think. My good friend is a LD nurse so I asked her what that means.
I didnt realize how serious the consequences of a cord prolapse are until I just googled.

Id love to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation and if so how long it took for you to go in to labour. I had a hospital appointment yesterday and they told me the head is still not engaged so its a but unlikely baby will come soon. Dec 18 2014 at 258 PM. I was induced at 39 weeks and my baby wasnt engaged. I dont think either of mine were engaged 40 weeks. Please dont worry that baby not being engaged will mean a long drawn out labour or c section. I have just come back from the mw and am very upset.
Just had 40 week midwife appointment and baby is showing no signs of going anywhere. Looks like the babys head has moved out of the pelvis completely. To cut a long story short 36 hours later had an emergency caesarean as he was stuck tight. They broke my waters and baby then engaged and came quite quickly. Was hoping for vbac this. Dec 18 2014 at 258 PM.
